Data we process
When you visit this website, technical data required to deliver the site (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) is processed by our hosting provider. When you contact us by email or through a contact form, we process the information you provide, name, email address, organisation and the content of your message, to handle your enquiry.
Service providers
This website is hosted by Netlify. Images and video are delivered by Cloudinary. Messages submitted through the contact form are processed by this website and transmitted to us by our email delivery provider, Resend; they are then handled in our corporate mailbox, which runs on Microsoft 365. Sign-in to the area for healthcare professionals is provided by Microsoft Entra ID. We do not use analytics services on this website.
Purposes and legal basis
We process personal data to operate this website securely, to respond to enquiries, and to comply with legal obligations, including pharmacovigilance obligations where a message concerns the safety of a medicinal product. Under the FADP, we process personal data in accordance with its data protection principles. Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: our legitimate interest in operating this website securely and in responding to enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR); steps taken prior to entering into a contract, where your enquiry concerns a potential business relationship (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); and compliance with legal obligations to which we are subject, in particular pharmacovigilance law (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
Disclosure
Personal data is disclosed to the service providers named above only as necessary to operate this website and handle enquiries, and to authorities where the law requires it. Where a message contains safety information, relevant personal data may be shared with the responsible marketing authorisation holder, an authorised pharmacovigilance partner, Swissmedic or another competent authority, where required by applicable law.
International transfers
Our service providers may process personal data in the United States and other countries outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we rely on safeguards recognised under Swiss law, in particular standard contractual clauses recognised by the FDPIC and, where a provider is certified under it, the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Retention
Personal data is retained as follows. Technical server logs are kept by our hosting and delivery providers for short, rolling periods defined in their configurations and are then deleted automatically. Correspondence relating to general enquiries is deleted no later than twelve months after the enquiry is closed. Pharmacovigilance records are retained for the periods prescribed by applicable pharmacovigilance law. Where another legal retention obligation applies, the statutory period prevails.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact info@altanovapharma.com. If the GDPR applies, you may lodge a complaint with the competent EU supervisory authority. In Switzerland, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
